Why does my Zoom meeting title show as "Google Calendar Meeting (not synced)"?

Last updated: January 21, 2025

If you're using the Zoom add-on in Google Calendar to create meetings, you may occasionally notice that some meeting titles appear as "Google Calendar Meeting (not synced)" instead of the actual title you've set.

Why does this happen?

This issue occurs when a Zoom meeting is created using the Google Calendar plugin, but the corresponding event is not actually saved in Google Calendar.

Until the event is saved, the meeting title will not populate correctly. Additionally, your bot will be unable to fetch join tokens for local recording for this meeting.

How to ensure correct meeting titles

To make sure your Zoom meeting titles are displayed correctly:

  1. Create your Zoom meeting using the Google Calendar add-on as usual.

  2. Ensure that you save the event in Google Calendar after creating the Zoom meeting.

  3. Verify that the event appears in your Google Calendar with the correct title.

By following these steps, the title of your Google Calendar event should be correctly associated with the Zoom meeting.
